Recipe
Paneer Butter Masala
Put on Paneer Butter Masala when you want something comforting and the evening is already moving.
You'll taste the paneer and tomato passata first.
Plan on about 30 minutes, most of it hands-off, and it's gentle enough for kids if you hold the hot chili.
Ingredients
- 400 g paneer
- 1 cup tomato passata
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 large onion
- 1 tsp garam masala
Steps
- Cube paneer. Fry onion in butter till soft, then add passata and simmer 8 min.
- Stir in cream, garam masala, and a pinch of salt; cook 5 min.
- Add paneer, warm through 4 min, and serve with rice or naan.
The reel
Tips
- Sear paneer until the edges color, then take it out. It turns rubbery if it sits.
- Add it back at the end so it warms through without boiling.
- If a batch crumbles, soak the next block in hot water for five minutes.
